Lily & Gemma Book Drawing 100

Wow! Today went by quicker and longer than i expected.
You know those kind of days?
Well, i just had one of them.
Spent the day drawing and catching up on work and emails.
Also, spent a little time looking through some of the NYFW shows i didn't go to...
I have to say, i sure wish i had gone the Rodarte show!
I mean, wow! They busted out the sharpie and went to town! haha
The Collection is so awesome!
It looked like some of the hair and make up was inspired by Tavi's amazing Borders & Frontiers shirt ;)

Well, tonight i present you with Drawing 100 which is the last drawing out of Volume one of "The Character Sketchbook".
It's a couple years old now...
but it's always fun looking through that book...

P.S. I picked up my artwork from the art show tonight. I was like a kid in a candy store to have all the framed pieces back home. Posted a picture up on my Image Diary of me with one of the pieces~!

Fashion Week Build Up

Well, my friends...
The race is on... The countdown has began and the mid-night candles are a burning!
haah Well, 11 days left till i fly out to New York.
I am currently staring at my multiple page "to-do before I leave list",
and trying to figure out how it's physically possible to finish everything in time.
Yesterday, i dropped off with my framer, all of my art that is going to be at my September 11 art show.
He is amazing! I'm really getting excited for the show now.
I dropped off my 5ft X 4.5ft X 1ft layered painting at the framers, too.
It's the first time i will be showing this piece, i'm so excited about it.

The picture today is from Volume 2 out of my Character Sketchbook.
Since i drew it last year in Bryant Park at NYFW, i thought it would be a good little sike up.
I still don't have my official schedule settled yet, been getting invites over the last few days,
but once i have everything finalized, i will post the schedule! :)

Sasha & the Pointy Ears

OK, is it just me or do you want a coat that has sweet ears like this one!
Shoot! When i saw this editorial, i couldn't stop thinking how amazing that coat was.
Well, my friends, we are almost done with the week.
How's your week going?
Mine has been a long one.
Been swimming alot more than i usually do; it's been quite nice.

i can't believe Fashion Week is just a month away...
so much to do & so little time!

I really want to do a polished painting of it.

How are you?
Well, today has been a long, but good day;
been drawing and painting all day.
Did this painting of one of my favorite models Mona Johannesson.
I've been eyeing this picture of her for a while now.
I love this photo shoot, it's wonderful,
so i ended up painting it today.
Kinda reminds me of Audrey Hepburn a little.
Well, i hope you like it! :)

Lily & the Plant

Hello my friends! Wow, i am so tired!
Today was a long day.
i'm excited to get back, wake up, and begin drawing again tomorrow!
This drawing above i drew while on a plane flying back from New York fashion week a few years ago..
It's weird to think it was that long ago... mmm..
i have a sweet tooth tonight, so i think my brother and i are about to leave for some ice cream.
Guess i better get ready, but i hope you like the drawing and hope you all are having a great day!

p.s. We have been updating the Dream Walking Society a bunch lately,
almost got it to 24 hour posts going on! haha

Frida Gustavsson - Vogue Germany

Hey friends!
How are you doing?
Your weekend going well?
Mine has been wonderful!
I got to see my friend Sarah Jaffe perform last night.
And oh my, oh my! She is amazing, it was such a Brilliant Concert!
Then today, i've just have been hanging out with my brother and my friend Sean.
We went to a vintage book store and i got some books,
then I sat and played piano for the first time in a while this afternoon...
Ah yes, so relaxing.

Well, the painting today is of the Lovely Swedish Model
Frida Gustavsson on the cover of Vogue Germany.
I saw this cover for the first time about a month ago,
and i was blown away!
The picture is so bright and electric,
and Frida is so captivating on the cover.
So, of course, i've been dying to paint it,
and finally got around to painting it.
I really hope you like it :)

Olive des Olive

Hey friends,
Well, it was a late night last night.
Went to Nike's screening of Bjork's tour DVD in LA last night.
It was really fun. Bjork is incredible. What she can do live never ceases to amazing me.
But needless to say, i'm pretty tired from last night.
Need to refill my coffee cup and get rolling on some projects...

The painting today is an old water color, spray paint, and pen picture i did back in the day.
I think i did this in my fashion illustration 2 class. haha
I just stumbled on to it and thought it would be fun to post.
It's always funny seeing my old work. haha :)

the Count Down

Happy Sunday night!
Well my friends, was it just me or did this weekend crank like lightning?
For some reason, i was in a clothes designing mood all weekend,
so needless to say, i have croquis scattered all over the room.
The next few days are going to be hectic.
It's the few day count down,
cause I'm flying out to Texas Wednesday!
It's going to be really fun.
I just have a lot to figure out in the next few days.

Hide N Seek

When was the last time you all played Hide & Seek?
This image reminds me of playing that game.
How was your day?
Mine was great, drawing grid suit Croquis (Fashion sketchs) all day.
Got like 25-30 drawn now.
i decided to quit for the night when my eyes started to hurt and get all hazy... haha

The original picture is of Swedish model Mona Johannesson.
I love the picture, i feel like the image captures Intimacy & Love perfectly.
At least, whenever i think about love, that image pops into my head, not sure why.
It's just so playful.
I'm not sure if my picture has that same feeling, but i sure tried... haha.

Lily & Her Chair

Wow, today was really fun!
i started hearing back and seeing picture from a lot of the people who ordered the Girl in Glasses Tee.
Finding people wearing the shirt today was... to quote Geri Hirsch "kind of like Where's Waldo!"
It was really fun.
If your shirt arrives, if you could send me a picture of you sporting it, that would be amazing!
It's so much fun seeing you all sporting the shirt! Thanks again so much! ;)

The drawing for tonight i did 2 Thanksgivings ago.
It's of Lily Cole sitting on a chair.
I really like how it turned out, kinda reminds me of being in a dream.
You know how sometimes in dreams objects size and scale don't really line up with reality.
This picture reminds me of that! hah

Runway Zombie Day

Hello my Friends,
how are you doing today?
I'm currently living as a Zombie!
Wait a sec, that might be an oxymoron...
i guess Zombies can't be living....
i guess I'm currently existing as a Zombie... haha

Well, last night, my really good friends
flew in and we picked them up at 1am at LAX,
and by the time we were settled down to sleep, it was far too late.
So basically, today I'm running on way too much coffee! ahhaah

The painting today is one from way way, way back.
It's just a basic water color and pen painting i did back when i was in school.
It is of Gemma Ward walking on Chloe's Spring 2007 runway Show.
I have to say, this was my favorite collection Chloé has put together.
It has such simple and complementary style.

Well my friends, it's only the first day of the week and i'm yawning pretty hard right now.
I'm going into work tomorrow,
but after that, i am going to try to do a few new drawings for you all this week.

that i really like how they turned out.

SO....
I Finally had the 1 millionth Visitor today!
That's seriously mind blowing!
2 years ago when i started this blog,
i honestly didn't think anyone would ever read this blog....
Amazing. Thank you all for your support.

Singing in the Rain

Why Happy Sunday early morning friends!
Just got back from hanging with my friends, the Baxleys,
and i saw "Singing in the Rain" for the first time,
which was awesome!
Now i have a huge crush on Debbie Reynolds (the leading lady in the movie).
Oh and i started sketching up some clothes designs
cause i think my friend Alice and I are going to make a small handmade Collection sometime in the future...
and there are a few outfits i think that are going to be pretty fun.
Well, the drawing above i did a few years back, i drew it in the car while on a road trip.

Frida Gustavsson Plane Sketch Part 2

Well, hello my friends, how was your weekend?
Mine was so nice!
Just finished watching "It's a Wonderful Life"....
Oh, my, that movie is so good!
I have to say Frank Capra is my All Time Favorite Movie Director.
Such incredible stories and story telling.

So the Image today is Plane Drawing #2 from My Flight to New York last week.
It was my first day drawing model Frida Gustavsson.
It was the day I fell in love with drawing her too! :)
She is adorable :)
I can't wait to do a more polished Painting of her.

Also I spent this weekend helping my friend Alice, revamp her site.
Alice is the one who is helping me design a little clothing collection...
She has a wonderful blog (which I've posted some images from for inspiration friday)
but we revamped the site and her blog really didn't have a name,
so we came up with the name for it "Clouds & Candy".
Cause if you look through her site, it will remind you of Clouds & Candy. Haha

Looking Back

Well, my friends, today was a good day of getting organized.
I cleaned my Studio! You should see it; it's all shiny and clean.
I thought of a little concept for a short film, if i ever get time, i want to make it.
The drawing tonight is out of Volume 2 of my Character Sketchbook.
For some reason, i really like how it turned out
It's kinda simple but the lines in it just seem right. :)
